Serving the disabled is a blessing

 Punem Krishna, sarpanch of Bhadrachalam village, said that we are lucky enough to serve the disabled; it is our good fortune. On Tuesday, the program was formally launched by attending the Paralympic Games competitions being held at the Bhadrachalam mandal level. 

Bhadrachalam Tasildar, who attended the program on this occasion, said that it is the responsibility of all of us to identify children with special needs and make necessary arrangements for them.

 In this context, Mandal Education Officer Bekkanti Srinivas Rao spoke. 

He expressed his opinion that we are very happy to see such a huge response to organize at the mandal level for children with special needs in our Bhavita center.  Bhadrachalam Zilla Parishad Girls' High School Principal T Rama said that setting up a Bhavita center on their premises is a great opportunity. 

Also said that it is fortunate to serve children with special needs. Ward member Ramana said that it is commendable to organize such programs by providing necessary help and encouragement.

 After conducting competitions in 14 events, the winners were presented with prizes by Mandal Education Officer Bekkanti Srinivasa Rao and School Headmistress T. Rama.

Athletic Selections

 

Today, at the Charla police sports grounds, Charla SHO Alem Raju Varma and SI Narsi Reddy launched athletic selections for running by waving the Olympic flag. District athletics association secretary K. Mahidar said that winners here will be eligible to participate in state-level athletics competitions to be held in Warangal on the 26th and 27th of the month. He also said that Charla's sports facilities are exceptional and that only the district headquarters has this kind of ground. 

And it's ideal for 400-meter track and field athletics competitions. He thanked CI Raju Varma and SIs Narsi Reddy and Keshav, and the public for creating this kind of spacious ground. PD Eeswar Srinu, ASO PD K. Venkata Narayana, district coaches Nagaraju and Prasad, PET Ravinder, and others participated.

Adivasi youth Charpa Rambabu was felicitated for Guinness World Records

Bhadrachalam, August 12: Charpa Rambabu, an Adivasi youth from Bhadrachalam, a member of Depot Youth and working as a PET in a minority gurukula school, has achieved a rare feat by participating in the Guinness World Records event.

A total of 1,212 participants took part in the largest karate exhibition held on 25th April 2026 at Vision Martial Arts Academy, Hyderabad. The event, organized by the J.R. International Taekwondo Academy, is registered with Guinness World Records. Charpa Rambabu also participated in this program and became a partner in this prestigious record.

On this occasion, Charpa Rambabu was felicitated with a shawl and presented with a memento under the auspices of Depot Youth. As an Adivasi youth, he expressed his happiness to be recognized at the international level by showing his talent in the field of sports.

On this occasion, it was mentioned that Charpa Rambabu's success is an inspiration to the youth of the Bhadrachalam region, especially the tribal youth. He said that if they progress in sports and other fields with discipline and perseverance, the youth can show their talent at the international level as well.

 Here is a good news for Archery aspirants and aficionados. Today, Rs.3.50 lakh worth Recurve Bow has been donated to the Khelo India free Archery training centre at Paloncha. It is made of Hoyt brand, USA.  At present, 38 archery enthusiasts are undergoing the training.  Dist. Collector Dr. Priyanka Ala handed over the bow to the coach T. Kalyan and all the aspirants are asked to bag more medals at the national level by utilizing the high edge equipment. District youth and sports officer M.Parandhama Reddy, Superintendent R.Uday kumar, senior sportsman Lakshman have participated in the program.

Bhadradri Girls : Striking for a glorious future

 This year seems to be a vibrant and exciting one for the people of temple town with having two jubilant daughters of the soil have been beamed in the cricket so far. They are in their path of fulfilling their dreams and in turn their efforts would enrich the women's cricket in our country as well. Creating a niche for them and striving for achieving is something exceptional in any pursuit, and in cricket which needs lots of practice hours and grit apart from unending hope for success.

Gongadi Trisha already made waves by her presence and with having selected for three T20 series against England A began last Wednesday. Now, one Y. Trisha Poojitha , a different youngster beamed in the news as she has been picked up in the auctions by Gujarat Giants for the upcoming season, in women's premier league. The striking common thing is not only Trisha in their name, both they have hailed from the temple town, Bhadrachalam.

Gongadi Trisha's father Rami Reddy, back then, established a full fledged gym in the town and started instructing the enthusiasts apart from being himself as a health coach in the nearby ITCBPL. Later, he shifted to Hyderabad along with his family. And Trisha Poojitha's mother was an English teacher worked at Sri Nannapaneni Mohan ZP High school and she transferred from here on a promotion. Summer camps for the children

 District Collector Anudeep Durisetty expressed his happiness that the students came to the summer camps and made good use of their time. He said that he thought of organizing the summer camps during the summer vacation to acquire skills in sports along with education. He directed the municipal authorities to organize the summer camps in Pragathi Maidan in Kothagudem town.

He said that steps have been taken to provide the services of experienced physical teachers to train the students in sports of their interest. Training is given from 6 am to 8 am and from 5 pm to 7 pm.  PTs Coach in volleyball, kabaddi, football, basketball and other sports.

He asked them to take advantage of the time by participating in these activities until the end of the summer vacation. If they are limited to cell phones and TVs, they will have many psychological problems. If the children get trained in the sports, they would emerge as prominent sportsmen in the future.

Sports at three levels

 Arrangements are being made to organize the CM cup tournament for the youths aged 15 to 36 years at the mandal, district and state level, according to the instructions of the state sports authority. At the mandal level, 5 events such as athletic, kabaddi, foot ball, kho kho, volley ball can be organized and the participants should be aged 15 to 36 years. Mandal committee comprises of MPP (chairman), zptc, mpdo, Tahasildar, MEO, Gazetted HM, SI and PET. Winners at the mandal level shall be sent to the district level and the merit certificates will be given to the mandal level winners. Mandal level sports will be organized during may 15 - 17.

And district level events will be during may 22 to 24. Along with batmintan, basket ball, boxing, hand ball, swimming, wrestling, altogether 11 events can be organized. District committee comprises of Collector (As Chairman), SP (Vice chairman) , DYSY convener, district olympic president etc. First prize (individual level) Rs.20,000/- second prize Rs.15000/-,third prize Rs.10,000/- will be given in cash. Team level winners will get Rs.1,00,000/- for first prize and second prize Rs.75,000/-, and third prize Rs.50,000/- along with CM cup. All the sports enthusiasts are welcomed by the District collector Sri Anudeep Durisetti.
